Dr. Shila Schneider is Business Development Specialist at Ewopharma AG, a privately owned Swiss pharmaceutical marketing company with target markets in Central Eastern Europe and Switzerland. With over 20 years of experience in pharmaceuticals, management and the life sciences, Shila is a business development and licensing expert with particular skills in communication and the transition of science and technology developments into the commercial sector.

 

After earning a Master of Science in Zoology with a focus on Immunology, Molecular Biology and Developmental Biology from the University of Zürich in Switzerland, Shila went on to complete a doctorate in Molecular Biology. Shila’s academic research experience encompasses projects in experimental immunology at the Institute of Experimental Pathology, later Experimental Immunology, with Professors Hans Hengartner and Rolf Zinkernagel for her master’s thesis and gene therapy in collaboration with the Institute for Molecular Biology and the Children’s Hospital of the University of Zurich for her doctorate. In 2002, she went on to earn a Master of Business Administration at the Imperial College Business School in London. There she specialized in Healthcare, Entrepreneurship and Customer-focused Strategy. 

 

Shila launched her career in the pharmaceutical industry in Drug Safety and Inflammatory and Viral Diseases Research for Hoffmann-La Roche, where she spent 4 years. Following her MBA, she worked her way up the ranks at firms such as SV Life Sciences, Inpharmatica, Celltech, UCB, Antisoma, Eurand, Nycomed and Takeda. Prior to joining Ewopharma, Shila was an independent consultant for Commercialisation of Innovation.

 

Outside of her professional endeavors, Shila volunteers as a Coach and Juror for »Venture», an organization that supports young entrepreneurs. Based in Zürich, Switzerland, Shila speaks an impressive 6 languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Swiss German.
