Mariana Gesto is a Recruitment Professional for IBM Global Business Services / SSA, a global leader in cloud platform and cognitive solutions. With over 10 years of experience in technical recruitment for the IT sector, Mariana is highly specialized in organizational psychology, strategic recruitment, profile evaluation and human resources development. For IBM, she schedules and conducts interviews with potential talent, assessing and working closely with the company to ensure its needs are fulfilled and future labor demands are anticipated.
After earning a bachelor’s degree from the Escuela y Liceo Elbio Fernández, Mariana went on to become a Licensed Psychologist specializing in Organizational Psychology from the Universidad de la República. She also completed postgraduate training in Focal Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy for Adults from the Ágora Institute, in HR Assistance from Círculo Informático, and began a Master´s Program in Strategic Management in Information Technology from FUNIBER. She has expertise in full cycle recruitment, sourcing and onboarding of specialized talent for multinational, regional and local companies, as well as psychological testing and reporting, competency-based evaluations and assessments for potential. Additionally, she has designed specialized talent engagement programs, and outlines recruitment strategy and training at the organizational and individual level.
Trilingual in English, Spanish and Portuguese, Mariana resides in Uruguay. Her work in technical recruitment has spanned across Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Puerto Rico, Spain and Hungary. She credits success to the passion she has for her work, and serves as a mentor and teacher to up and coming HR professionals.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Mariana currently contributes to the Doctors Without Borders international humanitarian medical non-governmental organisation, and enjoys traveling, reading and spending with friends.
