Dr. Amira Ehrlich is an educator with more than twenty years’ experience in the field of music, as a teacher, producer, and researcher. Among other positions, she has served as a member of the national leadership team for the Ministry of Education’s Experiments and Entrepreneurship Division; and has taught English and music in various high schools in Israel, including serving as school music subject coordinator for 15 years. In 2009, Amira founded her own production company for the management and advancement of Innovative Jewish Music ensembles. Dr. Ehrlich has toured national and internationally with these ensembles, most prominently Prof. Andre Hajdu's Ha'Oman Hai Ensemble.

Dr. Ehrlich has completed two master’s degrees cum laude, one in music education at the Levinsky College of Education, and the other in English literature and musicology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 2018, she received her doctorate (D.M.A.) in music education from Boston University, and was awarded for departmental excellence. Her dissertation examined cultural implications of Israeli music education. Her published writings explore sociological and cultural aspects of music education, and the interfaces between music, education, spirituality, leadership, and culture. Amira has presented her research at international conferences (MayDay Group Colloquium: New Orleans, 2015; International Society of Music Education (ISME: Glasgow,2015; Baku 2018); Cultural Diversity In Music Education (CDIME : Helsinki, 2015; Nepal, 2017); and others, and is currently involved in Global Visions Through Mobilizing Networks: Co-Developing Intercultural Music Teacher Education in Finland, Israel and Nepal, a research project funded by  University of the Arts Helsinki, Sibelius Academy in Finland (2015-2020). Dr. Ehrlich's research has been accepted for publication in international academic journals and book projects.

Born and raised in the USA, with family roots from Saratoga Springs, Upstate NY, and childhood in Teaneck, NJ;  Dr. Ehrlich currently resides near Jerusalem, Israel with her husband and three daughters.
