Carlos is currently the owner and General Manager of Eco K International SRL, a company he started about 4 years ago, to recycle wood and charcoal waste to produce charcoal briquettes and firewood rods, biomass at its best. Eco K is the first company to do this in Bolivia, producing these products for commercial use, and starting a new product in a market not used to briquettes or biomass products, has not been an easy task.  At this time, Eco K is planning to double up production to cover the entire country and possibly to export to neighboring countries.

Prior to its own venture, Carlos has worked during 18 years for the Caterpillar dealer in Bolivia and other countries in South America.  He retired from it as the General Operations Manager of Bolivia for Finning, the largest CAT dealer in the world, covering Canada, UK, Ireland and four countries in SA.  He has also been the Marketing Manager for these countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile and Uruguay), Regional Manager, Service Manager and Energy Manager.  Besides he has worked for 8 years in the US in research and development of factory automation products, for UNIDO in investment promotion services, and many consulting jobs internationally. He feels that the key to his success has been the love that he has for his job and what he is doing. His company is breaking ground in the Bolivian market, ecologically and industrially.

Carlos Carrasco graduated from George Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and three years after went on to earn his Masters from the University of Wisconsin. In his spare time, he enjoys travel, family and soccer, and resides in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
