Debra K. Otis is an accomplished nurse and healthcare professional with over 25 years of experience in nursing, hospice, and nursing informatics. For the past two years, she has served as Regional Director; Citrus & Hernando Counties for HPH Hospice & Home Care, Inc. Debra graduated with an MBA from Tampa College in 1993, and with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Roberts Wesleyan College in 1988. Initially, she was drawn to a career in nursing as her pastor's wife was a nurse who Debra always admired, and who took on a mentoring role, as well, so ultimately, her heart went towards nursing. Going forward, Debra is looking at other opportunities, perhaps doing a doctoral program, another Master's degree, or additional certification programs. She is also considering getting back into Nursing Informatics and would like to work with clinical applications in systems. In addition, Debra would like to network and reach out to other professionals in her field, as she's located in a more rural area north of Tampa. She is part of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, and periodically participates in conferences, seminars, and public speaking, as well. The key to her success is being driven and self-motivated. When she's not working, Debra enjoys gardening, yard work, and bike riding. She supports A New Generation, a pregnancy clinic, and is involved with her local church, serving as mission’s director and on the church board.
