Chief Information Officer; Information Technology; IT Governance Industries: Retail, International Supply Chain, Grocery, Global IT Delivery, Food Distribution, Construction, Wholesale, Manufacturing, IT audit and compliance in public companies. Software and SaaS offerings. Notable Challenges and Battles: Payless ShoeSource / Collective Brands, Inc. – Building Distributions Centers and IT capabilities in support of the DCs: Building Western and Eastern Distribution Centers, the largest capital project in company history. Partnered with SVP of Logistics & Transportation and built 2 new DCs, retired the legacy DC, and replaced the Mainframe / AS400 applications with Manhattan Associates WMOS. We significantly reduced counter flow of product, saved millions of $ per year in fuel cost, and greatly improved DC productivity. $36B+ International Consumer Electronics Retailer based in Minnesota - Holiday Readiness Seasons 2002-2004: In 2002, an ERP rollout and new supply chain initiatives created a perfect storm during the holiday selling season, causing over 100 hours of enterprise-wide outages. The entire holiday season was spent in crisis management mode. For 2003-2004, I assumed responsibility for holiday readiness, with the objective to eliminate the preparation budget, and create no down time. In 2003, we suffered one outage of 45 minutes only. By 2004, with minimal funds, we had zero downtime. By changing our operational model, we established a year round readiness approach that included the holidays.
