Giovanni Criscione graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in law from the University of Catania in 2001; he then obtained his Master's Degree in international affairs and diplomacy from Società Italiana per l’Organizzazione Internazionale (SIOI) in 2002. From SIOI, Giovanni holds certification in international exchange and economy that he received in 2002, protocol certification that he received in 2006, and a certification in expert protocol affairs in 2016. Upon graduation, Giovanni has held several positions such as a public relations consultant, advisor to diplomatic delegation for Italy in the United Nations, domestic dignitary program specialist for the organizing committee for XX Olympic Winter Games, protocol manager for EXPO 2015 Italy and international relations officer for the mayor's cabinet - city of Milan, Italy. Giovanni is currently serving as the senior protocol manager for Expo 2020 Dubai. In this position Giovanni is responsible for providing protocol support, assistance and logistical arrangements to institutional delegations attending official ceremonies and official events before, during and after the Expo semester. He manages the international organizations for political parties and officials. Giovanni has expanded into the academic field and had been a professor at his alma mater SIOI. He teaches protocol lectures to Master's Degree level students as well as expert courses in international and domestic protocols. Since his teen years, Giovanni was certain he wanted to pursue a career in the diplomatic and government fields. He feels his keys to his success are his honesty and trustworthiness, hard work, creativity and out of the box thinking as well as great problem solving skills. His greatest professional achievement was being handpicked by the Dubai government to represent them as the senior protocol manager for EXPO 2020 when there were so many others as candidates. Giovanni's most familiar quote is "It is not who you know, but who knows YOU," this mantra has proven great success for him as he knows leaving a lasting impression on someone while conducting the utmost of professionalism is very important. He is also very proud of being one the founders of the EXPO 2015 Italy. In the upcoming years Giovanni plans to field in this same field of protocol management, but will be serving the EXPO for another country.
